Although brook trout can weigh up to 10 pounds, most fish in most provinces and states outside Labrador will seldom reach more than a couple of pounds. Occasionally, a 3 or 4 pound trophy will be caught yet, most are considerably smaller and a 10 to 12 inch Brookie is regarded as a good size fish. Whereas in the unspoiled remote wilderness of Labrador, 3 to 4 pound Brookies are very common.

The lodge has many comforts of home, away from home. It contains all the necessary amenities to guarantee maximum comfort for the guests. There are 1440 square feet of floor space with five twin bedrooms, accommodating ten people.

The main building consists of a large kitchen, dining room and lounge area, two bathrooms with showers, hot and cold running water, refrigeration and diesel generated electricity with a back-up power supply. The lodge also provides clean linens and all the necessary toiletries

Igloo Lake is located 72 miles South East of Goose Bay near the 53rd parallel. Air Nova (Air Canada) operate daily flights in and out of Goose Bay from most Canadian cities and towns with connections to most cities throughout the world. We use local air carriers in Goose Bay to transport the guests to and from the lodge. These fixed wing aircraft include Twin Otters, single Engine Turbo Otters, Beavers, Cessna's. We also use helicopters. They all operate under visual flight regulations (VFR)
