An Alaska Fishing trip that is unbelievable. Incredible fly fishing for Alaska's Wild Salmon, Northern Pike, Char, Grayling, Dolly Varden and Sheefish all in one spot at a truly remote yet comfortable fishing lodge. That's what you will find at the Anvik River Lodge located in western Alaska. Goldon Fishing Expeditions recommends this as a must visit.

Nestled in the woods along the Anvik River in Northwestern Alaska sits the Anvik River Lodge offering an unparalleled fishing and boating experience you'll find second to none. An atmosphere of Alaskan and Russian explorers, miners and trappers add to the charm and history of the area.

The Anvik River Lodge is the only fishing lodge on the Anvik River. They are located 400 miles northwest of Anchorage off the Yukon River. The village of Anvik is their closest neighbor and is about 70 miles away. Home to Alaska's oldest Episcopal church, Anvik also has a small museum with artifacts from the area's Athabascan, Russian, and Alaskan history.

There is no "combat fishing" at the Anvik River Lodge. The remoteness is in itself a truly awesome experience. You are part of nature when you stay at the Anvik River Lodge.

At the Anvik River Lodge you can spend your days (and with nearly 24 hours of daylight that's a long day) fishing, sight seeing, wildlife watching or just plain daydreaming. Here are just a few of our guests showing off the proof of that fish story they told you about last season...

The season starts June 30th and ends August 31st. The fishing on the Anvik River is great all season but use this guide to plan your trip depending on what you would like to catch.

The Anvik River Lodge capacity is 10 guests per week. The guest list is small in order to tailor your trip to your expectations. Guest Rooms - The well appointed guest room, with private bathroom, is complete with flush toilet and hot shower. Each room has two double beds with flannel sheets and cozy comforters. There is a cabin with either a king sized bed or 3 singles.

Meals - Dining is family style in the great room. Start the day with a delicious breakfast complimented by fresh baked pastries or muffins and fruit. Evening meals are a variety of fish, poultry, beef and pork accompanied by salads and vegetables picked from our own garden, fresh baked rolls and desserts. You won't want to miss the Friday night steak and Alaskan King Crab meal! Lunch on the riverbank can consist of fresh fish cooked over open fire or homemade deli-type sandwiches. Lunch will also include cookies baked daily, chips, fruit and candies for snacking on.

You will depart Anchorage to Anvik about 11:00 a.m. aboard a private airplane charter. In Anvik you will be met by an agent who will transport you and your gear to the shores of the Yukon where your guides will bring you on an extremely comfortable jet boat ride to the lodge. Be sure to watch for moose, bears, wolves and other wildlife along the way. On your departure day you will be in Anchorage by 4:00 p.m.

Go on guided hikes or just drift down the river to look for wildlife including brown bear, black bear, wolves, moose, otters and beavers, or spot several of the 50 species of song, migratory and predatory birds in the area.
